Mark holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from Massey University and is a member of the NZ Institute of Primary Industry Management. His expertise in whole-farm modelling, sustainable nutrient management, and industry leadership has made him a valuable advisor.

Based in Cambridge with his wife Denise, Mark combines his deep industry knowledge with a hands-on approach, ensuring farmers receive tailored, practical solutions for a thriving and sustainable future.

A Proven Track Record in Farm Consulting

Mark has dedicated his career to improving dairy farm productivity and sustainability. His journey began in 1982 with the Dairy Board/LIC, where he spent 14 years providing expert consulting to farmers across the Northern King Country, Northland, and South Waikato regions. He later consulted for the NZ Grazing Company before launching his agribusiness consultancy in 1998.

Mark has worked alongside dairy farmers for over four decades, offering practical solutions that drive profitability, sustainability, and efficiency. Whether it’s whole farm modelling, nutrient management, or strategic herd improvement, Mark’s insights help farmers make informed, future-proof decisions.

A Life in Agriculture

Mark was raised on a family dairy farm in Northland, where he developed a deep understanding of farming from an early age. This hands-on experience shaped his passion for the industry and laid the foundation for his career in agricultural consultancy.

In 1982, after completing a Bachelor of Agriculture at Massey University, Mark began his career with the NZ Dairy Board as a Consulting Officer. He worked extensively with farmers across Northland, South Waikato, and the King Country, focusing on mass extension and facilitating discussion groups to share best practices and innovative farming solutions.

In 1998, Mark established his own agri consultancy business in Cambridge, allowing him to work more closely with individual farmers. His expertise lies in developing tailored farm systems that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and profitability. The greatest reward for Mark is seeing his clients’ businesses thrive, with well-fed and well-managed dairy cows as part of a productive and profitable farm environment.
